Goffman Special Issue taking Shape: Dimitri Shalin’s article “Interfacing Biography” on Early View of Symbolic Interaction

With the publication of Dimitri Shalin’s article “Interfacing Biography, Theory and History: The Case of Erving Goffman” the Special Issue concerned with Erving Goffman begins to take shape. In his article that has just been published on Early View, Shalin elaborates the interrelationship between Goffman’s biography and his academic work. He uses the analysis of Goffman’s life and work to introduce the Goffman Archives that provide researchers with a plentiful research to facilitate “biocritical hermeneutics, a research program focused on the relationship between biography, theory, and history”.
