Review of J Wender’s book on Policing and the Politics of Everyday Live

Symbolic Interaction has just published Tim Berard’s review of Jonathan Wender’s book “Policing and the Poetics of Everyday Life”. In his review Berard highlights Wenders’ innovative approach to studying police work and the author’s exploration of the ways in which police (wo)men deal with the tension of on the one hand the formal, inhumane bureaucratic work of social control and on the other hand on the other hand their personal, emotional and humane involvement with crime and People involved in crime and ist consequences.
