Early View: Eric Orion Silva – Neutralizing Problematic Frames in the Culture Wars

Eric Orion Silva’s article “Neutralizing Problematic Frames in the Culture Wars: Anti-Evolutionists Grapple with Religion” examines  570 letters to the editor published in American newspapers to explore how anti-evolutionists try to Counter attempts to frame their position as religious.  Silva explains how the laders of the anti-evolutionist movement often fail to minimize the religious motivations of their followers. He therefore contributes to interactionists’ long-standing interest in the definition of the situation and the under-theoriyed role of disagreement and agreement in undoing problematic definitions of the situation.
