Review of the Czech translation of Peter Auer’s ‘Linguistic Interaction’ #sssi #sociology

There is a considerable interest in symbolic interactionism and related sociological orientations in non-English speaking countries. To give a flavour of the work that is done in those countries I have commissioned a small number of reviews of books published in France, Germany and elsewhere. One of these reviews has just been published is Jakub Mlynar’s discussion Peter Auer’s book “Linguistic Interaction”. Peter Auer is professor of linguistics at the University of Freiburg in Germany. The book reviewed by Jakub Mlynar has been published originally in German and was recently translated into Czech. Mlynar uses his review to shed light on some current discussions in the Czech Republic. Subscribers can download the review by clicking on the image below.
