J. E Sumerau & Giuseppina Valle Holway’s article has addressed the questions of “how do cisgender people construct familial expectations, and what consequences do these actions have for the reproduction of inequality?”

In this article, the authors examine these questions through in-depth interviews with cisgender college-aged women to understand how the participants construct familial ideals predicated upon cisgender norms and assumptions.
